Steven R. Wilson, County Attorney

Mr. Steven R. Wilson brings knowledge and dignity to tthe Office of the County Attorney. Graduating from Garnett High School in 1969, he went on to serve his country as an air-to-ground radio operator, and was also trained and worked as a C-130 Loadmaster in the United States Air Force until 1975 after which he graduated from Emporia State University in 1977. He completed his law degree at Washburn University and worked approximately a year with National Cash Register Company (commonly known as NCR) in personnel and labor relations.
After gaining that corporate level experience Mr. Wilson went on to establish Wilson Law Office in 1982, and growing that office into Wilson, Lee, Gurney, Carmichael, and Hess, a well-respected firm serving Kansans from his Wichita office. His experiences there brought him before Hearing Officers, Administrative Law Judges, Municipal Judges, Magistrate and District Court Judges as well as the Kansas Court of Appeals.
To round out Steve's commitment to family and community, He returned home to Garnett Kansas after retirement and soon was selected to represent the Municipal Court as Presiding Municipal Judge. then with a little more than gentle persuasion from friends, relatives and residents, Steve put his hat in the ring for the nomination of the Republican Candidate for Anderson County Attorney. Successfully earning the nomination and subsequently elected to represent the community as County Attorney. Steve plans to continue serving the area not only in office but also as a volunteer within our community.
Steve is a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Parish, he directs and personally funds the St. Rose Bicycle for Kids program, holds membership with the Knights of Coumbus, Garnett Rotary Club, Anderson County Bar Association, Kansas County/District Attorney Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Garnett Country Club.
Wade H. Bowie II, Assistant County Attorney

In May of 2005, Mr. Wade H. Bowie II started his legal career as a contract attorney representing parents in child abuse and neglect cases in Shawnee County. In September 2005, Mr. Bowie relocated to Iola, Kansas to accept a position as an Assistant County Attorney in Allen County. In January of 2011, Mr. Bowie was appointed Allen County Attorney and was later elected to the same position in 2012. In January of 2012, Mr Bowie was also appointed Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Iola, Kansas and served in that capacity until resigning in December of 2014.
Wade H. Bowie II, has been the Coffey County Attrney since October 2018, when he was appointed by the Coffey County Republican Committe. Wade is a career prosecutor committed to community safety and offender accountability to Kansans and is please to bring his experience to the citiizens of Anderson County.
In January of 2025, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Bowie will bring their combined talents and expertise to bring about the changes needed in the Anderson County Attorneys office to reflect the values of the community.
