Elizabeth Oliver, Anderson County Attorney
Anderson County Attorney, Elizabeth L. Oliver, is a lifelong Kansan. She grew up attending sales at the Anderson County Sale Barn. Ms. Oliver holds many degrees including an Associates in Science emphasis in Business, Bachelor of Public Administration, Juris Doctorate, Master of Library Science, and Master of Arts in English.
Ms. Oliver graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 2009 and was licensed in Kansas to practice law in 2009 in the state and federal courts of Kansas, and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
In 2017, Ms. Oliver was sworn in before the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington D.C., officially making her licensed to practice law in the highest court in the United States.
Since graduating law school, she has worked zealously to advocate for individuals in the legal system. She is a dedicated public servant having worked for the State of Kansas, and Kansas Legal Services as an attorney. As an Assistant County Attorney in Sumner County, she prosecuted rape cases, burglary cases, and drug cases. Ms. Oliver has also prosecuted in Montgomery County and handled a variety of cases.
Since growing up around the Anderson County Sale Barn, Elizabeth’s passion for Anderson County has not wavered. After spending a legal career learning how other counties and districts handle cases, Elizabeth ran for Anderson County Attorney in 2020 and was elected the Anderson County Attorney. She was sworn in on January 11, 2021 and immediately went to work for the citizens of Anderson County.
On her second day on the job, she successfully won a bench trial. Elizabeth is a member of the First Christian Church of Garnett, and the Lions Club of Garnet.
Elizabeth is honored to be serving the citizens of Anderson County.
